MAASAI CULTURAL TRAIL
Leave Nairobi for Saigeri where the Maasai manyatta is situated. The drive takes you to the Maasai Manyatta is situated. The drive takes you to the Ngong Hills and then descends into picturesque countryside.

After a brief introduction into Maasai culture, you proceed to the manyatta. Witness the warlike dance performances and inspect the manyatta whilst interacting with the people and learning about their customs and forms of art. Depart late afternoon for Nairobi.
LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK
Lake Nakuru lies in the volcano –strewn Rift Valley, one of a chain of 8 lakes, which stretch the length of Kenya from Tanzania to Ethiopia. The 160 km’s drive from Nairobi passes through highland farms of the Kikuyu people before descending an escarpment into the dramatic landscape of the Rift.

Lunch is taken in the Park and is followed by and extensive tour which focuses on the bewildering spectacle of a million flamingo but which also seeks out the large variety of wildlife with which the Park abounds. On the return journey to Nairobi a stop is made at Lake Naivasha where tea is taken among the fever trees and where bird watchers will delight in the fantastic array of bird life.
BORNFREE TRAIL 1 DAY
This includes a visit to Elsamere Conservation Centre situated on the shores of Lake Naivasha and the home of the late Joy Adamson. Lunch at the center is followed by a visit to Hell’s Gate National Park.
AMBOSELI EXPRESS TRAIL 1 DAY
Amboseli National Park lies within the shadow of mighty Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain. Game is seen on much of the route to the park. After lunch at a lodge in the park there is another game drive during which lion, elephant and cheetah are all likely to be seen. Return to Nairobi in good time for dinner.
BOMAS OF KENYA TRAIL 3 hours
Just a few kilometers from the city, numerous “bomas” or homesteads reflecting Kenya’s cocktail of cultures have been faithfully re-created for visitors to see traditional village life. The greatest excitement during the afternoon visit is the display of the traditional dancing, music and songs performed in a splendid arena.
NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK/LUNCH CARNIVORE/BOMAS OF KENYA – 1 Day
The National Park, only 8 kms from the city center, is Nairobi’s pride, for no other bustling capital can boast a paradise of wildlife almost on its doorstep. The morning is spent tracking some of the many species found in the Park, which include rhino, lion, buffalo, leopard and cheetah. After lunch at Carnivore Restaurant continue to Bomas of Kenya for a fiesta of traditional music and dance. The tour ends in Nairobi in the early evening.
NATIONAL PARK/-CARNIVORE TRAIL/MAASAI TRAIL 1 DAY
Tour Nairobi National Park in the morning. After lunch at the Carnivore restaurant proceed on the Maasai Trail for the rest of the afternoon.
KAREN BLIXEN MUSEUM/GIRAFFE MANOR/OSTRICH PARK – 3 Hours
This half-day afternoon tour visits the Karen Blixen Museum at the foot of the Ngong Hills, the farm and home of Isak Dinesen of “Out of Africa” fame. This is a pilgrimage to the memory of a woman admired universally, both for her spirit and her writings. This is followed by a visit to Giraffe Manor, the wildlife conservation center and home of Daisy, the world famous Rothschild giraffe who starred in the film “The Last Giraffe”. Finally your tour will take you to the Ostrich Park and Arts and Craft Village, where you will see the world’s largest bird being farmed and discover that the myth of the scared ostrich is just that – a myth! Return to your hotel as the sun goes down.
THE KAREN TRAIL – 6 Hours

Day 1 Nairobi – Amboseli
A night stop in the Park enables a more leisurely encounter with the magnificent array of wildlife than is possible on the one-day safari. The tour leaves in the morning reaching Amboseli National Park in time for lunch. Day 2 Amboseli-Nairobi
On the second day there is an early morning game drive before leaving for Nairobi, which is reached in time for lunch.
AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK – 2 Days Tour
This tour follows much the same itinerary as BTS (11(A) but is extended so that more game viewing can be undertaken on the second day. The tour returns to Nairobi in the late afternoon, lunch having been taken in the Park.
TREE HOTEL – 14 1 ½ Days
There are three tree hotels in the vicinity of Nyeri about 160 kms north of Nairobi. Treetops and the Ark are in the forests of the Aberdares Mountains and Mountain Lodge is on the slopes of Mt. Kenya.

Day 1 Nairobi – Tree Hotel
The drive passes the small industrial town of Thika surrounded by extensive pineapple plantations. After crossing the Tana River, source of some of Kenya’s hydropower, the landscape changes and becomes lusher as you climb into the rich farmlands of the Kikuyu people. Lunch is taken at the Outspan Hotel in Nyeri, in the case of visitors to Treetops and Mountain Lodge and at the Aberdare Country Club in the case of the Ark. In the afternoon proceed to your tree hotel where the night is spent and where a procession of forest animals visits the floodlit waterholes and saltlicks. Elephant, rhino, buffalo, giant forest hog and many other species are commonly seen.

Day 2 Tree Hotel – Nairobi
In the morning descend to your base hotel before returning to Nairobi in time for lunch.

MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE – 2 ½ Days
Day 1 Nairobi – Masai Mara
Passing through the dramatic landscape of the Great Rift Valley and the plains inhabitated by Maasai Pastoralists, the Masai Mara National Reserve is reached in time for lunch. In the afternoon a game drive to search out lion for which the Reserve is so famous. in a lodge or camp in or near the Reserve.

Day 2 Masai Mara
An extensive morning game drive is followed by a lazy restful afternoon ‘by the poolside or another game drive. This part of the Northern Serengeti is where the great wildebeest migration is resident and it will be possible to see huge herds of these animals covering much of the Reserve.

Day 3 Masai Mara – Nairobi

SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE
Another day of exploration of this harshly beautiful reserve where game abounds especially in the forested fringes of the Uaso Nyiro River which flows gently through the dry landscape.

DAY 3
SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE-NAIROBI
Early morning game drive and after breakfast depart for Nairobi. Lunch will be taken at Kentrout Restaurant arriving in Nairobi in the early evening.

Day 1 Nairobi – Tree Hotel
Drive through ranchland before reaching the foothills of Mt Kenya where much coffee is grown. Arrive at your base hotel in time for lunch. Day 2 Tree Hotel – Samburu/Shaba
After breakfast continue northwards, skirting the massif of Mount Kenya, to reach Samburu/Shaba/National Reserve for lunch. Day 3 Samburu/Shaba – Mount Kenya Safari Club
A morning game drive in this wild but splendid reserve. Continue to the luxurious Mount Kenya Safari Club whose immaculately manicured gardens nestle on the forested slopes of the mountain. The afternoon is free to enjoy the numerous optional facilities of the club which include horseback riding, tennis, golf, bowls swimming or just luxuriating in the comfort and beauty of your surroundings. Day 4 Mount Kenya – Nairobi
After another restful morning return to Nairobi via Nyeri where lunch is taken at the Outspan Hotel. Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the Boy Scout movement spent the last years of his life at the Outspan and is buried in Nyeri Cemetery. Reach Nairobi in the early evening.
LAKE NAKURU – NAIVASHA-MASAI MARA – 4 Days
Day 1 Nairobi – Nakuru-Naivasha
Shortly after leaving Nairobi the vast panorama of the Great Rift Valley unfolds below you and there are splendid stopping places from which to photograph this entrancing spectacle. Cross the valley floor to reach Lake Nakuru National Park, world renowned for its spectacle of millions of flamingo. The park is rich in other bird life and there are a surprising number of animals in this small and beautiful preserve. The night is spent at either a lodge or camp in Lake Nakuru Park or at a hotel on Lake Naivasha.

Day 2 Naivasha – Masai Mara
There is a chance to view the beauty of Lake Naivasha, with its varied bird life, before driving across the plains to reach the Masai Mara National Reserve in time for lunch. DAY 1
NAIROBI-NAIVASHA
Depart Nairobi for Lake Naivasha, descending into the Great Rift Valley. Arrive in time for lunch amid the yellow-fever trees and spend the afternoon spotting the birdlife which abounds around this lake.

DAY 2
LAKE NAIVASHA-LAKE ELEMENTAITA
After breakfast depart for the second Rift Valley lake. Unlike Lake Naivasha which is a fresh water lake, Lake Elementaita is an alkaline lake which is home to thousands of flamingos. Though not as well known as Lake Nakuru, this lake also has abundant birdlife. Enjoy lunch and an overnight stay at the Delamere Camp.

DAY 3
LAKE ELEMENTAITA-LAKE NAKURU
Depart for Lake Nakuru after breakfast where you have the chance to see the greatest bird spectacle in the world. A million or so flamingoes beside pelicans and cormorants make Lake Nakuru a bird lover’s paradise.

DAY 4
LAKE NAKURU-LAKE BARINGO
Leave Lake Nakuru to travel north to Lake Baringo. This fresh water lake stands out in sharp contrast to its arid and rugged surroundings. Another ornitholigist’s haven where the Goliath Heron can be seen.

DAY 5
LAKE BARINGO-NAIROBI
Depart Lake Baringo after breakfast to visit the hot springs at neighbouring Lake Bogoria. Picnic lunch and then traverse the floor of the Great Rift Valley arriving in Nairobi by late evening.
AMBOSELI – TSAVO – NAIVASHA – MASAI MARA – 6 Days
Day 1 Nairobi – Amboseli National Park
Drive through Maasailand to Amboseli National Park, which nestles at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain. Lunch in the Park followed by a game drive in this most photogenic of parks. at a lodge or camp in or near the Park.

Day 2 Amboseli – Tsavo
After an early morning game drive leave Amboseli for Tsavo West National Park. The route follows the base of the chyule Hills and crosses a great lava flow, which evidences Mount Kilimanjaro’s volcanic past. Lunch and an afternoon game drive in the Park. A visit is made to Mzima Springs where from an underwear observation tank it is possible to see submerged hippo walking the floor of the springs. at a lodge in or near the Park.

Day 3 Tsavo – Naivasha
After breakfast leave for Lake Naivasha taking lunch en route in Nairobi. In the afternoon reach Lake Naivasha, which lies among extinct volcanoes on the floor of the Great Rift Valley. The lake is a birdwatcher’s paradise. at a lakeside hotel.

Day 5 Masai Mara National Reserve
A full day of game viewing when it should be possible to see all the Big Five as well as a variety of lesser known species. in the Reserve.

Day 6 Masai Mara –Nairobi
After breakfast depart from the Reserve and re-cross the Rift Valley to reach Nairobi by lunchtime.

The descent into the Great Rift Valley, shortly after leaving Nairobi, offers spectacular views of lakes Naivasha and Elementaita before Lake Nakuru is reached. A picnic lunch is taken enroute and soon after passing Lake Bogoria our destination of Lake Baringo is within sight.

DAY 2
LAKE BARINGO – MARALAL
Early morning bird watching along the beautiful lakeshore or perhaps an optional boat excursion on the placid lake. After leaving the lake, the route passes through entrancing scenery as the Rift Valley escarpment is climbed. Maralal is reached at lunchtime. In the afternoon explore the little game sanctuary which surrounds Marallal Safari Lodge, where the night is spent.

DAY 3
MARALAL – LAKE TURKANA
An early morning departure is necessary for the long day’s journey to Lake Turkana, the Jade Sea. The route passes from cedar forest to near desert but the views are always spectacular and there is some game to be seen almost all the way. Reach Loyangalani in time for lunch. This is where you will spend the night at Oasis Lodge.

DAY 4
LAKE TURKANA
A day is spent at leisure perhaps by the two pools fed by warm springs or spend some time fishing for gaint Nile Perch. Other optional activities include a visit to the El Molo Village where Kenya’s smallest tribe is found. A second night is spent at Oasis Lodge.

DAY 5
LAKE TURKANA-MARSABIT
An adventurous day’s driving takes you north along the lakeside before heading east across the barren waste of the Chalbi desert. After a picnic lunch continue to Marsabit National Reserve superbly situated in the forest on the peak of Mount Marsabit which lies from the desert floor.

DAY 6
MARSABIT-SAMBURU
An early morning game drive through the forest trails and glades should enable you to see the huge elephants for which Marsabit is so famous. Buffalo are also common. After breakfast descend from the mountain, cross the Kaisut desert and arrive at Samburu Game Reserve in time for lunch.

DAY 7
SAMBURU-NAIROBI
The morning is spent game viewing and lunch is taken at the lodge before leaving for Nairobi which is reached in the evening.
NAIROBI – TREE HOTEL – SAMBURU/SHABA-MT KENYA –LAKE NAKURU (NAIVASHA) MASAI MARA – 8 Days
Day 1 Nairobi – Tree Hotel
Leave Nairobi in the morning to reach the small market of Nyeri in time for lunch. The founder of the Boy Scout movement, Lord Barden Powell, spent the last years of his life in Nyeri and is buried there. After lunch drive through the forest to the tree hotel of your choice (Ark, Treetops or Mountain Lodge) and spend the night, comfortably, watching forest game as it comes to the floodlit waterhole and saltlick below. at a Tree Hotel.

Day 2 Tree hotel – Samburu/Shaba National Reserve
After breakfast drive north to reach Samburu, which lies on the edge of the vast semi-desert lands of northern Kenya, in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive will introduce you to the animals, which are peculiar to the area – the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra and Somali ostrich. Dinner & overnight at a lodge or camp.

Day 4 Samburu/Shaba – Mount Kenya Safari Club
A morning game drive in this wild but splendid reserve. Continue to the luxurious Mount Kenya Safari Club whose immaculately manicured gardens nestle on the forested slopes of the mountain. The afternoon is free to enjoy the numerous optional facilities of the Club, which include horseback riding, tennis, golf, bowls, swimming or just luxuriating in the comfortable and beauty of your surroundings. Day 5 Mount Kenya – Lake Nakuru (Naivasha)
During the morning cross the tip of the Aberdare Mountains stopping briefly to admire 73m plunge of Thompson’s Falls, named after the Scots explorer who first saw the Falls in 1884. Continue to Lake Nakuru for lunch and afternoon visit to Lake Nakuru National Park where the sight of a million or more flamingos cannot be forgotten. Dinner & overnight at a lakeside lodge at Nakuru or Naivasha.

Day 6 Lake Nakuru-Masai Mara
Leave the beautiful lake to drive across the lunar landscape of the Great Rift Valley to reach Kenya’s best-known game reserve – the Masai Mara – in time for lunch. In the afternoon explore the rolling hills and plains for wonderful sights of the great numbers of different species found here. Dinner & overnight at a lodge or camp in or near the Reserve.

Day 7 Masai Mara
A morning and afternoon game viewing. Meals and overnight at a lodge or camp in or near the Reserve.

Day 8 Masai Mara – Nairobi
After breakfast return to Nairobi which is reached around 1 pm

DAY 1
NAIROBI- TREEHOTEL
Leave Nairobi in the morning to reach the small market town of Nyeri in time for lunch. After lunch, drive through the forest to the tree hotel of your choice (The Ark, Treetops or Mountain Lodge)

DAY 2
TREEHOTEL-SAMBURU GAME RESERVE
After breakfast drive north to reach Samburu in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive will introduce you to the animals which are peculiar to this area.

DAY 3
SAMBURU GAME RESERVE
Another day of exploration of this harshly beautiful reserve where game abounds. Lunch is followed by an afternoon game drive.

DAY 4
SAMBURU GAME RESERVE – BARINGO
After breakfast depart for lake Baringo and descend into the Great Rift Valley arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon visit to Lake Bogoria famous for it’s hot water geysers. Return to Lake Baringo in the evening.

DAY 5
BARINGO-LAKE NAKURU AND NAIVASHA
Leave after breakfast and drive along the floor of the Great Rift Valley where Lake Nakuru is located. Lunch and overnight at a lodge in the park or proceed to lake Naivasha where the night is spent at a lakeside hotel.

DAY 6
LAKE NAKURU/NAIVASHA – MAASAI MARA GAME RESERVE
Leave the beautiful lake to drive across the lunar landscape of the Great Rift Valley to reach Kenya’s best known game reserve, Maasai Mara, in time for lunch. In the afternoon explore the rolling hills and plains for the wonderful sight of the great number of different species found here.

DAY 7
MAASAI MARA GAME RESERVE
A morning game drive followed by lunch and afternoon at leisure or another game drive can be taken.

DAY 8
MAASAI MARA – NAIROBI
After breakfast return to Nairobi which is reached by lunchtime.
